ProPublica Continues Coverage Related to BP Oil Spill

If you pay attention to the fines issued to oil and gas companies when they mess up (sometimes), you quickly catch on that the fines amount to basically nothing. Usually ranging in the low thousands, they are nothing more than a minor slap on the wrist. A story published today by ProPublica, raises the issue of this in relation to offshore drilling. Another story published today by ProPublica, raises serious questions about members of a nonprofit conservation group and its close ties to the oil and gas industry.
